Ranchi, Oct 23: At this time the 4th One-day International (ODI) between India and Australia on Wednesday was abandoned due to rain. It was harder for the hosts to fight back in the Seven Match series. At the JSCA Int`l Stadium, in 4.1 over, India was 27 for no loss. They were chasing Australia's 295 for 8 but rain blocked the match at that time. After two hours, the weather became clear, but it was decided by the umpires, the ground was too wet to play. When the captain was asked about the target, he said, "It depended on the first 15 over, if we didn't lose too many wickets the wicket would have become better to bat on. It was well done for Australia to raise 295 for 8. Australia thanked to another innings from George Bailey (98 off 94 balls) and a glowing bang from Glen Maxwell (92 off 77). Having got 43, 92 and 84 runs, Bailey is in red hot in the previous matches. For a competitive score to set a strong base, Bailey and Maxwell made a 153 run position very early. James Faulkner (23 not out) and Mitchell Johnson (25) were able to take the team close to 300. The host team was careless on the field. They were dropping catches one after another. India set the opponent into bat along with gloomy conditions. Ishant Sharma was struggling and dropped along with fellow pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The replacement of Mohammed Shami and Jaydev Unadkat was not so harmful for the team. Shami hit 3 times to keep Australia on the back foot at 32 for 3. However it would be tough meant for India to win the series after the no result at this time, Australia was unable to move them from the top of the ODI ranking. Australia needed 6-1 to win in the series to become the top.
